Allow Users to Use a Mouse & Xbox Controller Simultaneously
It would be great if I could use an xbox controller (or emulated one like psmove) and mouse at the same time. Theres no easy way to have analog movement via thumbstick at the same time as precise aiming via mouse. Some games can switch back and forth, but I havent played any that do simultaneously.

Allow All Games to Operate in Borderless Fullscreen Mode
Add the ability to make any game or application run in borderless mode.

Allow Users to Set ICC Color Profiles At OS Level
For those with hardware-calibrated monitors, ICC color profiles often are ignored or overridden by most games creating an inconsistent color experience. Please allow us to enforce ICC profiles globally in order to enjoy consistent color for all media.

Allow Keyboard Layout Configuration for Gaming
Some games don't accept specific keys for input - especially keys from the number pad area are problematic. But not everyone is able or wants to use WASD (and some non-English keyboard layouts aren't suitable for this). Third-party software to change the keyboard layout exists, but is very complicated and doesn't work reliably. A built-in Windows function to change keyboard bindings for specific programs/games would be very helpful - something similar to the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator from 2007 (which doesn't work anymore).

Windows Should Detect Variable Refresh Rate Monitors When Connected
Windows will automatically detect when a high refreshrate monitor is plugged in and set pc to that refreshrate. Also if a high refreshrate monitor is not plugged in with display port, windows will notify user that they will not get a high refreshrate unless they use a displayport cable.

Windows Should Shut Down Controller When PC is Shut Off
After playing a game using an Xbox controller connected via bluetooth and then shutting down the PC the controller stays on and flashes annoyingly till it finally turns itself off. Can't the PC send a shutdown signal to the controller like it does on an Xbox One

Allow Users to Lock Mouse Control to Active Game
A lot of games, especially older ones, are unable to lock the mouse cursor to the current screen. If you have more than one screen your mouse may move to the other screen, which makes scrolling maps difficult and may lead to an accidental loss of focus and thus of control over the game. I suggest a compatibility option to lock the mouse to the game's screen while it is running and focused and automatically cancel the lock when the game is exited or loses focus.

Integrate Ambient Lighting into Windows/Xbox Gaming
Integrate Ambient Lighting into Windows/Xbox Gaming, such as with razer chroma or philips hue.
This way the gaming can be more immersive. I know the Xbox team looked into the room wide projector for gaming.

Allow Users to Set Multiple Keyboards & Mice as Inputs on Windows
Currently multiple keyboards & mice cannot be used at the same time. A utility where you could assign multiple keyboards & mice as separate controllers would be very useful and give more reason for developers to create split screen games for PC

Improve Multi GPU Support for Games
Is there a way that Microsoft can better support sli/crossfire. Currently it is very tedious to get the correct settings so a game can run smoothly and utilize both graphics cards. Also Sea of Thieves has no SLI support, can you guys fix this.

Allow Users to Set Download Speed Setting for Windows Store
When downloading new games in the windows store, there's no setting for us to allow faster downloads. We simply are at the mercy of windows and the store. But, there's also no way for us to cap the download speed if we are performing other tasks at the same time that we're trying to download games.

Improve Performance Transitioning from Games via Alt+Tab
When alt-tabbing from a game back to the desktop, the game ends up either minimized or otherwise shoved to the background. Many games can't handle this gracefully, and crash or freeze when this happens. I'd like to see if the multiple desktops feature made available in Task View could be used to switch out of games in a way that doesn't crash them.

Allow Users to Set Audio Output Easier With Specific Games & Apps
Routing sound is a problem in Windows 10. eg. I have 2 sound cards in my system (I know people have more for streaming, music making or video editing etc.) and I would like to easily route sound from application to selected device directly from tray. Spotify on speakers, Chrome, TeamSpeak and my favourite game on headphones.
Same with microphones. Skype on camera microphone and TeamSpeak on heaphones microphone.
Have a look on freeware app AudioRouter and AudioPick plugin for browser.84 votes -
Allow Access to Protected Folders For Games Purchased On Microsoft Store for Third Party Peripheral Programs
Applications like Razer Synapse, Corsair iCue, Logitech G Hub and other similar applications need some sort of method to access to the protected folders of games purchased on the Microsoft Store in order to configure your peripherals for each game (profiles, custom settings, lighting, etc.)
Usually this is done by telling these programs the location of a game’s .exe file, but these are protected and cannot be accessed in many cases preventing the user from using their third party software of choice.

Allow Users to Disable Mouse Smoothing Completely
Allow us to permanently turn off Mouse smoothing in the settings menu.
Right now the "enhance pointer precision" turns itself back on every time you boot the system. It ruins shooters for many and it's just stupid why the settings wont stay the way you put them.57 votes -
Improve Firewall Messaging for Games on First Launch
When you start a new game in windows that wants access to the internet a window opens in the background that asks if you want to allow it on public and/ or private networks. This window quietly opens behind the game, so you have to ALT-TAB back to the desktop and allow it access.
This has been very annoying with when trying to play with friends and they don't realize why it isn't working, only to close the game and see the window asking for permissions. If this message popped up over the game (for the first time, maybe like…

Allow UWP Games To Be Captured via Other Programs
As it is right now, games that utilize the Universal Windows Platform can't be captured by popular streaming software such as OBS or Xsplit.
When trying to use the "Game Capture" option in OBS, for example, on a game like Forza Horizon 4, the game crashes.
The only way to capture the games is through a so called "Display Capture", which will cause the game to be captured at very poor framerate.
Having proper support for being able to capture these games would be a blessing - it should be doable, seeing as software like Nvidia's Shadowplay is able to…
