Create a Version of Windows Specifically for Gaming

As someone who generally uses Windows just for gaming, it would be great if there was a version specifically designed for this purpose. Microsoft should release a version that is optimized and tailored specifically for the PC gamer.

Uninstalling Cortana or using an entreprise edition of windows without nothing but one game that you play really improve overall smothness, FPS in game, responsivity, etc..

This SHOULDN'T be the case. Microsoft SHOULD find a solution to end the silent processes, silent network activity, of a lot of apps, even system tools, that always slow down the activity even if the apps/tools/etc are not launched.

Similar to the the Windows Subsystem for Linux(WSL) you have a translation layer when launching a new Xbox app that hibernates the majority of the running Windows OS. Since must the Xbox system runs on a modified Hyper-V host, Windows Kernel and Microsoft has emulated PowerPC the engineering for this might be right up your alley. No more console wars. Just work with parts vendors on certified parts to run at various specs for similar performance to the current S and X mode Xboxes. Save money in R&D as well as unify your platform and stores. Just a thought. When you exit application is resumes your full Windows OS.

If continuum was used to offer a Windows 10 gaming mode that gave a controller optimised UI like the xbox dashboard this could help people who like to use a PC in the living room with their TV, it would also make it possible to use a controller to navigate Windows 10. Also, UWP apps could also switch from using their desktop/touch interface to controller or remote friendly xbox versions.

I think there should be a launcher for windows 10 gaming that is similar to; Steam, Battle.Net, Epic game store, etc. I think launching and buying games from the windows 10 store to be convoluted

User should be allow to increase / decrease the priority of processes that are running in background.

There should absolutely no mobile management or any software that switches the processes priority level adjusted by the user and nothing should switch back to their default settings when updating the software.

Give users full access to OS services to maximize customization of the software.

This is the most important one. Create a.version of Windows that has only the essential features a gamer would want something like an Xbox built into windows. It would save a huge ammount of resources and will.console gamers with the transition.

And also please make Windows 10 temporarily deactivates Windows Defender fully when in a game, this antivirus is the single biggest enemy to gamers. It slowly chews away at the CPU whenever you enter a game, and this introduces horrible stuttering that at times makes a game unplayable. I learned this by testing and reddit is filled with posts confirming this. So please consider this tweak. Windows Defender and gaming just simply don't go together at-least not in its current state.

Create a User Interface for a dedicated Microsoft Gaming App, with Controllers in Mind, that not only supports Mouse & Keyboard, but also supports Controllers in the same User Interface, for Launching Windows Apps and Games; Ensure Compatibility with Mixed Reality & VR; Some Great UIs to take inspiration from are: Windows Media Center, Xbox 360's NXE, Windows 8.1 Start Screen, Steam Big Picture.

strip the visual elements of the desktop to a minimum, and lighten the base system requirements. the system should run smooth, and be as light as possible on the hardware, as to devote more resources to the game/program, and less to running windows in the background.

What if you had dual boot up Windows or had an app that let you choose your regular windows and then a gaming specific operating system where it only had steam or whatever gaming program on there and the graphics card no ads nothing that you don't need running in the background. And where you had to manually update the gaming OS so instead of it always running in the background waiting to update using resources and meet the game one private where there's no history or any temporary files saved

streamlined networking to allow more direct connections to game servers and emphasizing game priority, secondly getting something better than DirectX as the main graphical api so that we can move onto a new generation of coding to reduce communication between cpu and gpu before an image is displayed on the screen.

Please integrate a big picture mode like steam where we can have an interface like on the xbox one with keyboard and controller support

On pc startup there can be selection (menu?) on boot does user want to start window in game mode or desktop mode. Game mode can looks like XBox screen or similar but not only store games. There must be option to add any game to play list. Also added games icon (tile) mist be customitable. Game mode must be fast loaded, simple to use even 4 years old kids, loads only most needed drivers to be light, all interrupt during game session must be disabled.

Have a specific gaming tuned process/service profile users may choose to boost gaming performance

With registry values tailored for gaming and optimal TCP performance on most systems.
Especially values like SystemResponsiveness, usually above 10 by default (I believe 14), when it should be on 1 or even .5 to reduce input lag and register all inputs much faster.
People that use the little utility called "TimerResolution" know what I'm referencing, it's a big no brainer.

Windows could either reboot or have a separate user which opens with an xbox-like interface for controller navigation which supports steam/oculus/vive/origin/UWP games but isn't bloated by everything that needs to run in Windows.
